In coming to receive Communion today, my mind was drawn to the marital vow "with this ring I thee wed" and somewhat quickly went on with "with my body I thee worship". The first presents the sacrament as both an outward sign and an actual seal of covenant relationship as a wedding ring can act both as a sign of being married and a signature realizing the marriage. The second represents how the incarnation ("with my body") — and particularly the death of Christ which is proclaimed in the sacrament — both declares God's love (considering his beloved worthy) and declares the beloved to be worthy as an effective, creative act.
Interestingly, that part of the wedding vows from the Book of Common Prayer then adds "with all my worldly goods I thee endow", marking a distinction between ordinary grooms and Christ since the Father of this Groom "has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places" (Ephesian 1:3, ESV), and, of course, if the Father has given his best and most precious, "how will he not also with him graciously give us all things" (Romans 8:32, ESV).
